BLUE LIKE JAZZ THE MOVIE NEEDS YOUR HELP

To make a long story very short, the script for Blue Like Jazz (the adapted screenplay based on Donald Miller’s NY Times Bestselling book written by Miller, Steve Taylor, and Ben Pearson) fell into my lap a few months ago. After I read the script I called the producing team to see how I could help. And for the last 5 months I’ve been helping them by securing some casting and locating potential investors and grassroots supporters.

On Monday night the Blue Like Jazz team was in town with director Steve Taylor to give a presentation (thank you Steve and Lisa Mann) to a group of potential investors. Donald Miller skyped in for part of the evening along with the actor who will be playing him (a friend of mine who we’re not able to announce until more funding has been secured).

This is where YOU come in…

As you might imagine, their biggest issue right now is raising money. Most people who loved the book can’t afford to finance it and most people who can afford to finance it have never heard of the book. As of today, they are only a few 100K away from breaking escrow which will enable them to begin production. Because they are wanting to cross promote the film with the release of Don’s new book in the fall (which just happens to be about turning BLJ into a screenplay), shooting this summer is essential. In order to stay on schedule they must raise a good sized chunk in the next 30-60 days.

I thought that possibly YOU, the readers of this blog, might consider hearing more about the project OR could connect us to people in your networks who would.

After spending a whole day with the team in person, I truly believe that this project is quite special and one that will change a lot of things in the industry as far as “Christian film” is concerned, not to mention giving investors an excellent ROI.

SO…

If you, or someone you know is interested in hearing more about getting involved (or would just like some more info), please shoot me an email or comment with your contact.

Long shots are more than welcome!
