On Holiday
If you’re familiar with the Ennegram, I’m a 7. I love experiences. Lots of them. I constantly want to be somewhere I’m not and I’m terrible at resting in one place for too long. This constant drive for new experiences has me plum tuckered out and in desperate need of focusing on where I am, not where I want to be.
Today’s EnneaThought confirmed this:
On New Year’s Day, focus on really being where you are—whether at a party, talking with a friend, or watching a movie. Immerse yourself in it, connect with it, and let it touch you.
I’m taking this advice seriously and will be going offline for awhile. I write this from a cozy little cabin on Lake Kegonsa in Wisconsin and for the next few days, The Wife and I will be breathing, reconnecting, writing, reading, and basically recovering from the last year.
The goal: Remain present.
As such, this blog, along with my inbox, will remain untouched during this time.
Have a Happy New Year and I will talk with you soon.
