SONGWRITING

I’ve recently been in a stream of songwriting. To find this stream requires digging into the ground with bare fingers until you find some trickle of lyric, feeling, melody, or message. When I find this stream, I am immersed in the current. However, more often than not songs will go into hiding. Especially when a deadline is ticking in my ear. Creativity, where did you go? Melodies, why do you hide? Then the digging must begin again, searching for a speck of an inspiration, which with much time and care, will slowly flesh out into a beautiful statement. This is what songwriting is to me.
