New Project: 4 Week Photographer

For the past two months I’ve been taking part in Carlos Whittaker’s Creative Coaching Network. Various groups of us meet once a month online to talk through the creative process, give encouragement, and challenge one another.
Last week each of us were given an assignment: Become something you are not. The idea is to get us thinking about how to solve creative problems in new ways as we wrestle through a creative medium we’re not proficient in. Ugh.
My specific assignment: Become a photographer in 4 weeks.
The specifics: Shoot. Edit. Display.
As my anxiety sets in…I reach out to YOU.
Because I’ve barely even touched anything more advanced than a point n’ shoot, I’m REALLY going to need your advice/help with the following:
- Total long shot, but might there be one of you who has a camera
a point n’ shootthat I can borrow during the project? - If not, do you have recommendations for a decent camera under $500? Are you selling? Is someone you know selling?
- Would anyone be willing to give me a few beginner lessons in aperture, shutter speeds, editing, etc?
I would be forever grateful for any help you can provide.
Although I’m terribly anxious, I can’t wait to get started and will be posting my progress as I go. Looking forward to taking a bunch of you along for the ride these next four weeks if you’re willing.
Co-creation, here we come!
