Five Things I'm Into Right Now
1. Holland, Michigan Last weekend The Mrs. and I spent a couple of days in the quaint, Dutch-Reformed village of Holland, MI. We were in town for a marriage conference put on by the couple who married us a little over a year ago. The town felt a little like Pleasantville - super duper clean and really, really, really nice people. Great weekend away to say the least.

An Honest Offering
This evening I came across the following quote as I was sifting through some old work. It is an excerpt from an article I wrote awhile back (and edited by my lovely wife, who until just now was without credit).
If, as artists, we are truly carrying the gospel with us in our daily experiences, through breakfast and meetings and coffee breaks and creative brainstorming sessions, then it should...

The Mars Hill Graduate School Viewbook
Mars Hill Graduate School changed my life. Simple as that. After spending 2 years in Seattle at MHGS, I can easily say that it was the single, most life-transforming experience I’ve ever encountered. I do not mean to be hyperbolic. I am only telling the truth.
My friends and former colleagues, Joshua Longbrake (photographer), Josue Blanco (designer), and Scott Small (copywriter), recently...

I'm A Korean Import
Stay with me on this one…
Nearly 2 years ago to the day, I posted about a little t-shirt project I was starting. You can read more about it here on my old blog, but here is the short version:
Two years ago, while taking a class on Faith, Hope, and Love at Mars Hill Graduate School in Seattle, I sketched three icons. Those icons became cut-outs which were stamped into a plastic chandelier I...

We Need Your Fall Music Picks
Ok, everyone, tomorrow is officially the first day of Fall!
As we prepare to usher in changing colors, falling leaves, crisp breezes, and pumpkin spice lattes, I thought it would be fun to do so listening to your favorite fall music.
So, tell us:
What are your favorite albums/artists to listen to in the fall? And/or, what new stuff are you listening to this fall that we’re all missing out...
I Heart Brighten Photography
We had always hoped our great friends Ben and Whitney of Brighten Photography would shoot our wedding. Obviously they are amazing! But, because of a scheduling thingy, they unfortunately couldn’t do it.
About a month ago they were in town to shoot another wedding and while they were here we convinced them to shoot us as well! So, M and I donned our wedding attire and headed into the city...

The Forgotten Way Pt. 2
A few weeks ago we released a promo for our upcoming series. If that was the trailer, consider this the opening credits. This played as the first element in the first service of our new series, The Forgotten Way, last weekend. Editing by Ryan Trommer and lovely motion by Bjorn Amundsen.

Get Off The Floor And Get Back To Work
I whine.
A lot.
So much so that as a kid, when I was in my rarest of forms, my dad would exclaim, “Well look who it is…Blainer The Complainer!”
I wish I could say I’ve changed. I still whine. Not as much as when I was a kid, but more than I’d care to admit.
These days I find myself mostly losing my marbles when the ideas don’t come. I don’t know about...

Call For Submissions: Online Art Show
I love art shows and my new internet friend, Promise Tangeman made me realize just how much I love the community that is created by collecting works of art and putting them on display. So, with a healthy nod to Ms. Tangeman, I thought we should put on a show as well!
Between now and Monday, September 14, I’ll be collecting your submissions for our very first Online Reader Art Show. I know...

Five Things I'm Into Right Now
This week’s collection of things is a mix of DIY, interior design, a photography project, and you could even say some girlie stuff. But, hey, I’m both comfortable AND in touch with my feminine side. Deal with it. And enjoy!
1. Keep Calm Gallery // This fantastic print shop just released some new work. I’m completely in love with handmade prints these days. There is something so...
Come O Spirit Releases Today
A little over a month ago I wrote about an album that was mysteriously sent my way. The album that captured my attention, Come O Spirit, is a collaborative effort from Great Comfort Records, produced by Isaac Wardell and Mason Neely, and includes artists Sufjan Stevens and Rosie Thomas (among others).
From their website:
Come O Spirit interprets hymnody through lush, cinematic arrangements and...
